The APGAR Test App allows you to simply and easily get the score on the APGAR Scale with immediate feedback by choosing options in each category to determine whether a newborn needs help breathing or is having heart problems.
The APGAR score is based on a total score of 1-10. The higher the score, the better the evolution of the baby after birth.
It is a quick test performed at the first and fifth minute after birth. The 1-minute score determines how well the baby tolerated the birthing process, while the score at 5 minutes indicates to the doctor the evolution of the baby outside the womb.
The APGAR test is performed by a doctor, nurse or can also be used as a reference for anyone involved in health care. The health professional will examine the baby:
Skin color.
Heart rate.
Reflections.
Muscle tone.
Breath.
